Good Friday in a Catholic town. Traffic yesterday was murder. Beginning a 70s movie marathon with Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974), but I’m not sure where it’s heading. All DVDs.
The Last Detail (1973). Directed by the great Hal Ashby. Every time I watch it I think this is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen.
The Anderson Tapes (1971). Sidney Lumet.
Martin Balsam nearly steals it.
Cotton Comes To Harlem (1970). Directed by Ossie Davis. From the book by Chester Himes.
Murder By Death (1976). Might be my most rewatched movie ever. I have it on VHS and DVD.
Franks and beans. That’s the one that always gets me.
Bad Company (1972). These last two are two more good examples of All-Time Favorites of mine. Great cast.
Written and directed by Robert Benton. Cinematography by Gordon Willis.
The Beguiled (1971). Last one in the 70s marathon. I love Elizabeth Hartman in this. A tragic figure.
