In my childhood, this was something my dad would play somewhat often on an 8 track. I can still remember the ripples the label on the cassette had. That’s kind of weirdly specific memory, but there it is.

To give some background, there is something very much California, 1960s, and San Francisco Bay Area behind this whole track that eventually worked it’s way into my consciousness that wasn’t born until Janis Joplin was already dead, unfortunately, like several of her contemporaries.
